Headquartered in Kolkata , it employs over 2 0 00 profess ional geoscientists in its offices equipped with modern laboratory facilities over the entire length and breadth of the country. In its 162 years of distinguished existence, Geological Survey of India has made significant contribution to nation - building b y providing basic earth science information to the government, to the industry, and to the public.

National Industrial Training Centre - Among the premier and pioneer institutions all over the country. It is recognized and known for its initiative for running the courses Health Sanitary Inspector, Library and Information Science and Dental Mechanics under National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) for the first time. The Institute is running under Directorate General of Employment and Training, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
